retired? me? can you believe it?!
Do you believe me, if I tell you that I retired from Gimme Your Stuff? I´m sure I don´t have to tell you that it became quite all consuming, it took all my time and all my money, and became a true obsession. Now I´ll just finish my swap with Pei (don´t know if it still counts as a GYS swap, after three times...) and do my swap with Shikin in Singapore, and then I´ll try to use my money for something more useful (according to my sisters...). I know I want more tattoo´s...
packages up close
Ok, this is what I got:
From Tania in Portugal (if you want to see what I sent her, click here) I got some lovely fabric, in green, green/pink and black/white. I both want to use them, and keep them forever - what´s a girl to do? I got some Portugese candy, Hello Kitty-stuff (pencil, stamps, stationary...) and a homemade Hello Kitty pouch that was so perfect.
From Pei came quite unexpected a package from Australia/Singapore (so soon!). I got some requested candy (limited edition KitKats and FruitRollUps - my new favourite), an owl (part of the owl project), a pink turtle, three kinds of Jap stationary, Cinnamoroll fridge magnets, Hello Kitty tape, Re-ment and more.
Thanks a lot, Tania and Pei, you made my day!

are there angels?
I´m sure there´s at least one angel out there, and she lives in Japan. Thanks Jenn, for the absolutely amazing package I got today! A big package filled to the brim with Japanese kawaii, and I love every single thing! There were re-ment, so pretty stationary (perhaps the best thing of all), four kinds of KitKats (I really wanted to try the Bitter, and now I got it - yay!), fabric samples (love the rabbit ones), candy, assorted cute stuff, and much more. I loved it! And it didn´t in any way make my crush on Japan any less huge! Thanks Jenn, you saved my day!
japanese treats!
I got a so very nice package from Momo in Japan today, it really brightened up a rainy day! The package itself was so nice, I barely had the heart to open it, but inside was things so great, it was definately worth it! Wrapped in a Hello Kitty bag, were a whole lot of Hello Kitty-stuff: Two tiny rice spoons, badges, nail stickers, photo frame, calendar and ziplock bags, dark chocolate from Australia and a Kuri Kuri-book, which had so many great ideas. I loved each and every thing, thanks a lot, Momo!
good things comes to those who waits!
Remember the package I had to pick up? It was from Lizzy! From Singapore! Polar bears obviously don´t like the taste of Japanese candy, fortunate for me. She sent me a bag full of Japanese treats, that will last me a long time. Yay! Thanks, Lizzy! This is what it looked like:
This morning I got a nice surprice too - a package from Genevieve, my SP8 spoilee. Filled to the brim with pretty Hello Kitty, dark chocolate from Trader Joe´s and other lovely things. That really made my day! Thanks a lot Genevieve!
I actually went to my sister´s house to take pictures and show you (I have three packages waiting to be photographed), but there was no one home. I really need to fix my phone problem, so I can call ahead...

cuteness from Singapore
I got my package from Alvina today! How come one package from Singapore disappears, and one arrives without a care in the world? I still blame those polarbears - something in Lizzy´s package must have smelled too good to resist. But Alvina´s package - so very nice! A japanese craft book (this one: -yay!), a stack of Hello Kitty-stationary, Fruit roll-ups (I love those!), beads, earrings, chopsticks, bookmarks, Hello Kitty-sanitary pads, San-x clip thingys, tiny stickers, and I think that was everything. A whole bag filled with cuteness! Thank you Alvina, you made my day!
I made some very vegan treats for Momo yesterday, from one of the books I got yesterday. Quite nice, if I may say so myself. In my new book, I found something thet would fit very nicely in Pei´s next package, I just may have to get working on it when I get home...
I bought some trim for Tania´s bag, I may keep it, or I may make a new one. I can´t make up my mind!

expecting packages
Somehow everything I just wrote just disappeared. Just as well, I was feeling a bit negative, now you didn´t have to read that.
Hoping for a package tomorrow. YesAsia-books is on the way, so is package fron Lizzy (still!) and Alvina in Singapore and Genevieve from Washington, my SP8 spoilee, who thinks I deserve some nice stuff. Possibly is package from Melanie, my SP8 spoiler on it´s way sometimes soon, I´m expecting my last package from her.
That was more on the positive side!

I got lucky!
I had a package at the post today, I was rather hoping for Lizzy´s package, that it would finally find me (a month now...), but was surprised with two packages when I went to pick it up. Even if it wasn´t from Lizzy, I was very happy, both Anjali´s and Pei´s package in one stone. Woo-hoo! And right in time for my birthday too - perfect! There were some awsome stuff in there, this was what I got:
From Pei I got my bday-swap-package, all home made (almost). A Moomin pin cushion, a fabric origami box, a daruma in felt, a sewn purse and a Cookie dough KitKat (how good doesn´t that sound?).
From Anjali I got a Jap craft book, Handmade Zakka (so nice!), the cutest fabric, buttons even cuter, and very Japanese KitKats (aduki bean, fruit parfait and french bretagne milk), and the little bags she put things in were just as great as the package itself.
Thank you, both! I loved every single thing (in fact, now I´m going home, to enjoy everything in full)!

how disappointing!
I got a package today, and hoping for my package from Lizzy in Singapore, I went to get it at the Postoffice. But no, no luck, schoolbooks were what I got. I kinda suspected that, but one can always hope. Now it´s almost a month since Lizzy sent the package, but I have gotten things after up to four months, so I´m still hoping.
One who got her stuff, is Anjali, who says she liked the package I sent her. Goody! Her package to me is on it´s way and so is Pei´s bdaypackage. Nice things to look forward to!
I´ve got another swap on the go, with Momo in Japan, we´ll do it in October, which is actually perfect. I got a swap request from Alvina in Singapore too, but can´t write her at her blog, hopefully she´s coming back to my blog, and gets in touch again.
What else? Oh, it feels like fall here! It´s a bit chillier (but not enough), it´s windy and I´m wearing jeans without sweating to death. Yay! And I´ve got Christmas cravings already, a bit early, I know. But thinking of presents early never hurts, and I´ve got some ideas. And if I decide to go handmade, earlier is better.
I´m babysitting my 2-year-old nephew tonight. Fortunately I´ve been watching quite some nanny-programs this last week - he´ll never know what hit him!

I finally got me some!
I sent two packages today, to Pei on her birthday, and to Anjali. Hope they´ll enjoy them!
But even better - two packages came to me today!
First: wonderful pinky/beige handspun alpackayarn and a lovelysmelling soap from my SP in Canada. Very, very nice, thank you SP!
Then: a big package from Pei in Australia, which had just about everything in it. Some very kawaii stuff: stickers (I love Cinnamoroll!), stationary (the kind I really love), pencils, mobile-charms, keyring... Then a bag (I told you, I love bags!), yummy candy and very pretty felt sushi she made for me. The picture speeks for itself - I can´t describe all this goodness in merely words. Thanks Pei, you rock!
I, on the other hand, don´t rock that much. I never oversleep. Ever. Until this morning, when the alarmclock never went off. I woke up at eight o´clock, when I should be at work. Which ment that I weren´t there until 45 minutes later. I HATE being late! Usually I wake up at seven every morning, yesterday I had to watch Mr. Romance (Romance Academy) until midnight, so I slept in... But I had to see Mr. Romance, it was the last episode, and I loved the programme. So kitschy and bad taste, that you had to love it! Finding the new Fabio - actually, I´d be happy if they lost the old Fabio...

package and felt
I got a package this morning! A very nice mailman came knocking with a very nice package from Catherine. Inside, there was a pretty, pretty beaded, vintagy bag, containing chocolate from Trader Joe´s and a very retro looking gum. Thank you, Catherine, for giving me such nice things!
I spent last night and this morning, sewing swap presents. What I can tell you, is that making felt stuffies is very addictive! I bought some felt this weekend, but obviously not enough, not by a long shot. I need to buy more, and in more colours.

and kwoozy got hers...
Kwoozy got her package too, no pictures yet, but you can see the nice things she makes, some of which I hope to recieve in a couple of weeks or so. She said she liked it too. It´s really good that I almost enjoy giving more than getting! Still, I keep my fingers crossed, maybe there´s something for me too when I get home. What almost feels like a present, is that I remembered to buy my allergymedicine today - no more sneezing! And it feels a little like fall outside, it rains a bit, and it´s a bit cooler. Can´t wait for the real fall, my favourite time of the year!
packages recieved
Not me, silly. I don´t get my packages, oh no. But Catherine and Babs got theirs. They haven´t posted any pictures yet, but who knows, it may come, so if you´re interested in what I sent, take a look later!
woo-hoo!
One down, four to go! I got a package today! Very nice Babs from California sent me some lovely, lovely things: a wonderful Japanese craft book, a pretty Hello Kitty coin purse, a Japanese bag (and I LOVE bags!) and some candy and snacks. I loved it!
My SP says she hasn´t lost an international package yet, and promises this won´t get lost either. I hope and pray that she knows what she´s talking about, the package contains handspun alpaca yarn - that´s some good stuff! I´d hate for it to get wasted on those damn polar bears.
My SP spoilee got her package though, and now the cat is out of the bag, I can tell you her name is Genevieve and she´s from Washington DC, she blogs here: http://www.princessgenevieveknits.blogspot.com/. She said she liked my package!

wallclimbing!
I´ve got five (FIVE!) package somewhere on the globe, coming my way. Why, o why don´t I get any? Packages from Lizzy and SP were sent almost two weeks ago - are the mailman carrying them by foot, all the way from Canada and Singapore? This is totally giving me grey hairs (oh, wait - I started getting those when I turned 30), I can only imagine two fabulous package somewhere on the Arctic tundra, being eaten by polar bears. Polar bears suck.
who do I call to curse the mail-men?
I´ve been impatiently waiting all week for my packages to arrive, but nooo. (Ok, I got my books from YesAsia, that counts for a little). Next week I hope for anything between 2 to 4 packages. Wrong. I hope for 4 packages.
I shopped for and sent four packages yesterday (Santa´s little helper, that´s me), for my SP, and for Kwoozy, Babs and Catherine. Now comes the nervous waiting part...

does Christmas come early this year?
As you all know, I´m waiting for packages from YesAsia, my SP and Lizzy this week. Next week I should get packages from Catherine (a beaded vintagy bag filled with goodies!) and Babs. I really look forward to them all! Myself, I won´t keep them waiting for too long, I´m going GYS-shopping tomorrow, and shopping the last for my SP too. This is taking up a HUGE chunk of my budget, but it´s totally worth it! I love getting little pieces of the world in my mailbox! I had hoped to get me some today, but no, the mailman didn´t treat me that good. A note on the upcoming election, that is what I got. And I already know how to vote, so what good did that do me?
This decision, to blog in English, has worked wonders with my English skills (which has been somewhat resting since school, and that was way back), and my English typing (did you know it´s really different to type in another language, the letters keep moving). All I need now is someone to talk English to, and I´m right back on track... Oh, then I should pick a language, British or American, I know I mix them ruthlessly.

the great escape...
I´m actually at my nephew´s birthdayparty right now, but a bunch of kids, their moms and me... So I snuck of for a little moment. Thank god for my sisters computer....
Babs has bought me a really nice Japanese craft book (I haven´t got it yet, I only know which one it is), which just make me long for the whole thing to arrive even more. Have I mentioned lately how great GYS is?
Lizzy got her package last Friday, and if you look at her blog you´ll see how lovely she looks in the dress I sent her. She says she likes it!

my god is a graceful god!
Within the next week, I hope to recieve three (yes, three!) in a week or so. Package from my SP, from Lizzy and from YesAsia. What have I done to deserve such bountyfulness?
in the mail!
I just mailed Lizzy´s package to Singapore, hope she´ll like it! And I got mail from my SP, my package should be on it´s way this week, wonderful! How´s that for short and sweet?
