Now I´ve billed my YesAsia order to my credit card (or, to be accurate, my sisters card - but the money is mine!), so now I wait.... It takes some time to process the order, but the shipping was fast, it only took like four business days. And it came from Germany, despite the fact that YesAsia is located in Hong Kong. But that´s OK, if it means that I get my things faster.

I´ve got a third swap on the way, with Rachele in Japan. She´s abroad until September, but that´s actually rather perfect, one swap a month keeps my purse a happy camper. I´m expecting a package in three weeks or so from Lizzy in Singapore, and there should be a package incoming from my SP in Canada sometime in August, and now Rachel in Japan. It feels like Christmas comes a lot this year. Not to mention my birthday (which is actually in September - perfect!).... Have I mentioned that I LOVE swaps?!

I´ve got a new swapping partner, Lizzy from Singapore, who promises me an all Japanese package, if I send her some Swedish stuff. Sounds like a good deal - Japanese is fun, Swedish is not, so for me that is good. On the other hand, Sweden might be very exotic abroad, with our reindeers, moose, polarbears on the streets (oops, that one´s a myth...), caviar on crisp bread, dancing "Små grodorna" ("little frogs") around midsummer poles, it all sounds quite strange... I´ll try to pick out the good stuff for Lizzy!

I am currently part time unemployed and part time working (I never know how much I work, and how much I don´t), so I never know how big paycheck I get at the end of the month. This month it was good! Over 600 SEK more than I hoped for! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means that my books at YesAsia gets payed, which means I get them sooner rather than later. Yay! Oh, and I can eat for another week! Life is good! And to top it off, I´ve lost weight without trying! Minus about 3 kg/5 pounds in a week - yay!

The heading basically says it all. Not in the mood to blog today. Feeling kinda pretty, though, my hair turned out great, even though I´m only half done. I´m working next week, and the week after that, so a lot less time by the computer. Hopefully I´ll feel more bloggish then, and that I´ve got something to write about, I won´t have much time to ponder...

Nothing to share today - today I only surf, not blog. Oh, one thing - I´m dying my hair brown/black in a couple of hours, quite interesting, since I haven´t had dark hair for a while.

I placed a new order at YesAsia yesterday, this time I think I calculated my incomes correctly. This will hopefully arrive in the mail in a month or so:

The first one is a book of Ananö bears, not to make but to look at, and they are to die for too. The last book is one from my last (cancelled) order, on remaking old clothes. They all cost 500 kr or about $65, dirt cheap, and there´s no shipping! My message to the people is: shop on YesAsia, cheap books and often no shipping!

At Knit´s End and Yarn Harlot - Stephanie Pearl-McPhee
These books are basically the same, the first one, At knit´s end are short "meditations" on knitting, and the latter, Yarn Harlot is elaberations on the first. But never mind that - they are nice books in the knitter´s bookshelf, they´re funny and thought worthy, and you can feel re-assured, that you are by no means the worst one out there... If you don´t have much time to read, pick the first one, if you can spend some time in bed/on the sofa/on the hammock - pick the latter"! Or do what I did - do both!

This morning, the mailman rang my doorbell while I was still in bed. I quickly forgave him, because he brought wonderful things! They looked something like this:
A great package from Charlene in California, containing two kinds of chocolate, two craft books, wasabi peas, a pink lunchbox and a gathering of Hello Kitty things - everything Japanese! I was very happy, and very excited - the Gimme Your Stuff-swap is absolutely great! I really recommend you people trying it! You may not get as nice stuff as this, but I can garantee it will be something lovely!
knitting items for a walk

There´s mostly knitted accessories, but some crochet too (among other things, an amigurumi bunny - cute!). There´s quite a few things that I´d like to make, like this capelet, the cabled scarfs and the legwarmers, but there´s even more nice things, actually they tend to become more, the more times I look through the book. I liked it! |
stalking the mailman?
No, not literally, I´m not creeping up on him, but I am waiting impatiently, not leaving the flat before the mail arrives. I am so eager to get my Gimme Your Stuff-package, it could arrive today, but it didn´t. So I guess I´ll be sitting by the letterbox next week too. It should come on Monday, or perhaps Tuesday. I´m so exited, I know it must be great! Charlene promised me Japanese craft books (she mentioned two...) and Hello Kitty, and she said something about chocolate in her last mail...

I´ve made two amigurumis last week, a yellow lion and a brown bear, and they came out quite nice. They look my style, not a copy of anyone else. And I´m really happy with the ears, I made them up as I went, and they were actually very nice. I´ll post pictures eventually, and if the pink yarn becomes an elephant, you´ll see that one too!

This post is mostly for me, these are some of the Japanese craft books on my wish list. The idea is for new to be added, and bought ones to be crossed off the list. They are absolutely gorgeous, I tell you, and they´re SO MANY! A human life is too short to buy all of this wonderfulness, but I sure will try!

gothic lolita
Ännu en japansk grej jag gillar är Gothic Lolita, kanske inte så underligt då jag har ett förflutet som svartrockare, och fortfarande är rätt svag för goth. Är dom inte vackra, så säg!

hipp hurra - min sommar är räddad!
Jag har letat efter nättofflor med paljettblommor, men inte hittat några sådana i år. I stället nöjde jag mig med obekväma sommarskor från H&M och fuskVans från Din Sko. Vanskopiorna var trasiga efter mindre än en månad, så jag lämnade igen dom i helgen. Sedan traskade jag nerför Tegnèrgatan för att kolla Japanska Torget efter godis och craft-tidningar. Båda utan framgång, tyvärr, men i stället får jag höra att det finns en japansk bokhandel (som jag totalt missat!!). Just den lördagen hade dom stängt (snyft), men på vägen därifrån går jag förbi en kemtvätt med paljettofflor i fönstret! I många färger! För 95kr! Mycket glad i hågen gick jag därifrån med ett par rosa tofflor i handen. HURRA!
Apropå rosa, så har jag beställt rosa hårfärg. Jag är less på mitt trista hår (även om det är den del av mig som jag får komplimanger för), och ska klippa det (inte kort, men händelserikare) och färga brunsvart med rosa slingor/partier/vad-det-nu-kan-bli. Min klädstil är lite åt det udda hållet (särskilt för en snart 32-åring...), lite fruits/kawaii, men håret har varit Svensson. Nu ska det definitivt piggas upp!

Charlene´s package that is! I put it in the mailbox yesterday, hopefully she´ll get it this week. I bought her some candy, Nici-things, beads, and then some. I´ll link you to her, if she posts pictures. I hope she´s happy with the package, I got as much stuff as I could for $35. I want her to feel spoiled, not robbed! I´m actually quite nervous....

I just told my SP that her second package will be delayed, and combined with the third in August. Thankfully she thought it was OK! The postage is killing me!

Det har varit helt hopplöst att plocka fram filen med amigurumisar som jag beställt från Roxycraft, jag har försökt på 5-6 datorer, utan framgång. Men nu! Äntligen! Efter många försök på jobbet, nu har jag mina amigurumibeskrivningar i en liten hög bredvid mig, i färg och allt. Den som väntar på nåt gott, och allt vad man nu säger. Men om dom är minsta litegrann som beskrivningen till Aerial Pig (också Roxycraft), så kräver dom lite omarbete, för den var helt felande. Förhoppningsvis inte, jag har i alla fall betalat knappa hundringen för dom.
Mina amigurumiböcker från YesAsia är på väg, hoppas att dom kommer snart. Min andra beställning avbeställde jag, ekonomin körde ihop sig. Det blir i slutet av nästa månad i stället, och då förmodligen lite fler böcker ändå.

Jag förstår inte vad som tagit åt er läsare! Jag brukar ha sådär 20-30 träffar om dagen, nu var det 60 träffar för några dagar sedan, och igår var det över 90! Jag klagar inte, det är kul att fler hittar hit, men var kommer ni ifrån?! Det tog lång tid att nå 1000 träffar, 2000 gick fortare, och nu är jag på väg mot 3000 på nolltid. Jag vann aldrig några popularitetstävlingar i skolan, kanske har tiden kommit nu... Jag är glad att ni kommer hit! Ni är alltid välkomna, och har ni något att säga så är det alltid spännande att höra!

I´ve got a swap going on! Charlene from San Fransisco has gracefully agreed to send me nice Japanese things, and I´ll try to give her somethings from here. It´s hard to picture anything you could get in Sweden, and not in the US, since it´s the land of Everything. I will try to do my best to please Charlene, and hopefully she´ll like it. I usually make a great effort to put together the perfect present, and hope to do so now also. It should be in the mail in the beginning of next week!

Internet är ett fantastiskt sätt att lyssna på radioprogram när du vill, inte när de går. Jag har en pod-cast listad bland mina länkar, Stitch-cast, och där finns ännu fler länkar till crafty pod-casts. Den dagen jag skaffar en iPod kommer jag att proppa den med pod-casts. Just nu lyssnar jag på CraftyPod, om Japanese craft books och en pod-cast i samma ämne finns också hos Stitch-cast, gå in på deras sida och rulla neråt.
