delay

I just told my SP that her second package will be delayed, and combined with the third in August. Thankfully she thought it was OK! The postage is killing me!

picture this!

Now you I get to share them, my Canadian goodies! First, a picture of the whole package:

16274-175

The ball on the right is the absolutely soft alpaca wool! Cuddly!

16274-177

This is the hemp yarn, my spoiler lives in hippie land, so hemp is apparently not unusual. The picture is rather true to the colors.

16274-176

And this is the candy cotton. My SP suggested the sock pattern Alhambra from Mason-Dixon Knitting, so that may happen.

Was that a nice package or what?! Thank you SP!

my secret pal is a nice secret pal!

I got my first package yesterday! All the way from Canada! And if I had had a second to think about it, I would´ve taken it with me, and taken pictures... Crap...
But - it was a nice package, containing: two skeins of hemp yarn, blue and green (real pretty together), two balls of multicolored cotton, looking like candy more than anything (they might become socks) and some combed alpaca wool, absolutely soft. My new pet! I am not at all sure that I will ever have the heart to use any of it, it may become part of my core stash, so that I can look at it when I´m fifty, and remember the good old days.
Pictures will come, eventually, I promise!

a day in town

I went to Stockholm the other day, for a pamper-myself-day. I went to the Eastasian museum, but were very disappointed. I went to the Mediterrainean museum too, but only to the giftshop, which was faboulus. I ate yummy lebanese food, shopped some (summer shoes, a new bag, knick-knacks at Muji) and had a nice day in general. Sometimes the best shoppingparter is yourself...

the package has been opened...

My spoilee has recieved her package, opened it, and decided that she liked everything in it. Phew! I spend a lot of time thinking of perfect gifts, it´s nice to know that they´re appriciated. Also, when you see some of the packages people recieve, you get major inferiority complex, is my gift big enough, good enough? But she liked it!

?????

My secret package has arrived to the USA. Does she like it?

turning Japanese?

I am so totally into Japanese stuff at the moment - Hello Kitty, amigurumi, fruits (Harajuku-street-fashion), manga (some), kawaii... I borrowed a book on learning Japanese yesterday, but my hands didn´t want to write those pesky little figures (and I´ve studied hieroglyphs, I should be able to do it). I really would like to go there for six months or so, to study/work and live there, experience the country in person.

first package in the mail!

16274-119

Today I´m buying the last few things (thing) for my SP, and I´m mailing it tonight. I really thought of her, and what she might like, so I hope she does like it.
I´m working on her next package too, that is, I´m printing a bunch of patterns from the internet, to go with the theme of the package.

I´m anxiously awaiting my first package, knowing my mail has a habit of disappearing, it´s always a little bit nervous before I get it. The first SP-round I did, the Nordic, my third package were lost and I nerver recieved it, and that´s really too bad.

trying my best

I got mail the other day (as did many of you who are on the Stitch n´Bitch mail-list) from Debbie Stoller. Another S n´B-book is on the way, and she wants us to contribute. So I´m knitting away at home, trying out ideas I´ve had for some time. I really like the previous books, and it would be absolutely great to be part of the next. One of my ideas involves sculls, that´s all I´m saying...

Update

I´ve just sent my snailmail letter to my SP, with a little extra something something in it. I can never stick to the easy way, I always embellish, be it sewing a bag, och sending something extra in a letter. I thing more is better, and I love spoiling people. According to my family I´m a wiz at gifts, hope my SP will be happy too. Yesterday I made a little gift for her first package, I hope it´s right up her alley.

For my spoiler: I know I mostly blog in Swedish, but pictures and links say a lot about my likes, for example I´m very into amigurumis and Hello Kitty now, which shows.

nothing much...

I´m buying stuff for my sp (she likes pink and girly, just like me!), and I´m waiting patiently for my first package.
I´m not knitting a lot, only occationally on my pink/purple striped socks, mostly I´m sewing. After not having my sewing machine for a while,ít´s really fun again.

alpaca

I´m putting together my first sp-package, I´ve got most of it figured out, hope she likes it.

I think I lucked out again with my secret pal. My last totally got my hang-up on Japanese stuff, pink and Hello Kitty. This one gets the vegan issue, and spins alpacayarn from happy alpackas! I don´t normally like animal fibers, because wool is such a big part in lamb- and sheep-eating, but alpacas you have met and know is treated good, and don´t breed for eating purposes (I´ve never heard of people eating alpaca), that´s absolutely fine by me.

fun, fun, fun!

Now I´ve got myself a spoiler and a spoilee, and they both sounds wonderful. My spoiler mentioned handspun alpaca (yummy!) and my spoilee likes pink and knits socks, all of which is right up my alley. This is going to be fun!

anxiously waiting...

I haven´t heard from my hostess, nor my SP, but there´s a few days left, so I´ll try to be patience. But I´m all excited to get started, so it´s hard to wait.
