apparantly a new obsession is sneaking up on me...

If you´ve seen my last post, you know what I´m talking about. Somehow my internet surfing (and shopping!) has gone from Japanese cute to American 50s. That´s me, I guess, with an attention span of a two-year-old. I fall head-over-heal in love with something, and live it 120% for a while, then follows a new love. Which seems to be American 50s of all sorts: pinups, housewives, rockabilly, music, movies, clothes... Which means I HAVE to loose weight, because I have every intention to eventually wear those wonderful 50s outfits (dresses, skirts, twin-sets, pointy bras!). I saw Cry-Baby last night (I totally love that movie - and the DVD is an extended version!), and felt an immediate need to wear somthing 50s. I don´t own anything, I would look stupid in a dress with those full skirts, but I had a piece of fabric that might work, so I got started on a pencil skirt. Unfortunately (don´t you hate that!) I ran out of thread, and I need to buy a zipper, but I think it may be working out. And fortunately, 50s is a bit in fashion this spring, so I should be able to find clothes/shoes/accessories with the right feeling to them in the shops.

what a beautiful day it is indeed!

Last night I actually painted one of the walls in my livingroom, white of course, that´s how far the paint stretched. Now I only have three walls to go, none of which have windows or radiators - yay! But they are quite big, and I need to move my book cases (they are two, and FILLED with books). But one wall is done, and it feels so good!

It´s spring outside! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, it´s several degrees above zero. And I noticed that I need to clean my windows - I hate to clean windows...

I went up early this morning, and cleaned my apartment - if I have to do it (I should do it more frequently than I do), I prefer to do it in the morning - the sun brings out the domestic qualities in me, I guess.

And I got a wonderful swap package! I did a mini swap with Diane in New Jersey, just to get my hands on these babies:

and she didn´t sent just the knitting needles, but prety pink buttons and pink fabric (for my quilt-to-be) as well! Is she a nice person, or what?! Thank you so much, Diane!

bought the new issue

of Maire Claire Idèes, the spring issue, that is. There were some ideas that I really liked, and the idea of owning a gypsy mobile home (ok, I admit, I just invented the word, what is it really called?) stuck. I could have two, than I would be living relatively big, and if I wanted to go on a vacation, I´d rent myself a couple of horses, and off we´d go. I know, they only showed the mobile home, the living/vacation part is all in my imagination. I also liked their craft room ideas, among others. You might want to give it a look:

cupcake-o-rama!

Anyone more than me, with a weakness for cupcakes, or perhaps muffins? Ok, here´s a link to cupcake heaven: Cupcakes takes the cake. I´ll give you a little sneek peak of the good stuff:

Tasty, yes?

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!

If this isn´t spring, I don´t know what it is! The snow is melting (you can tell by all the dog poo coming out), the birds are singing, it´s above zero - it´s the best feeling ever! I hope this will last, I really don´t want a winter backlash. And if this is for real, it means we only had one month of winter - could it be the best winter of my life? Yay spring!

I´m an inspiration!

Lovely Belle from Canada (who I´m doing a swap with later this spring) liked my name, so much that she named one of her felt cats after me! She is very pretty, like this:

You can even go to her Etsy shop and buy her!

home again

I went to my parents/family this weekend, and it was very nice, I should definately go more often (1½ years since last).
I went to the doctors today, I´ve got problems with my neck and shoulders, and it actually felt good that he found something wrong in there, maybe there is a way to fix it as well. But now I´m really sore, since the examination.

going home for the weekend

Tomorrow morning I´m going to Jämtland (the northern part of Sweden) to visit my parents and youngest sisters for the weekend, it was a long time ago since the last visit, about a year and a half, and actually look forward to it. Otherwise I´m not the most family oriented person, but once in a while it´s totally ok. And it will be fun to see what they´ve done with their house, they´ve done some re-decorating since my last visit.

eeeeeeh!

Yesterday they found a murdered man in a park, just by my house! I feel like I´m living in a CSI-episode!

UPDATE: The police found that it was not a murder, just an accident, where he man had slipped on the icy ground and hit his head. It´s kinda relief, that there isn´t a killer loose!

I got my package from Yurippe...

and it was lovely! In a big box came a wonderful, soft knitted black scarf and hat (am wearing today!), a Hello Kitty cup (which fitted perfectly in the toothbrush-mug-holder in my bathroom, so now it holds my toothbrush and toothpaste, very nice!), soybottles, Japanese/Korean food and candy (among which three diffrent kinds of furikake!). I loved it all! Thanks Yippe!

I know which one I´d chose...

My bento package came today! Yay!

bidding fever!

I just made some bids on Tradera, on some deco tapes and a couple of bento boxes. Fingers crossed! Especially since at least three will become gifts if I get them.

I had a lot of hits on my blog yesterday - what happened?!

drop by!

I just opened my etsy shop, drop by and take a look! http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=26022

I love getting packages!

Today I got two great packages, one from Kellie in Kentucky, filled with kawaii stuff, which I will tell you more about when I post pictures.
I also got the books I ordered from Bokus, scroll down and see how much I loved them.

Now I´m going home to enjoy my goodies, because they are exacty what I need, with my recently evolved cold and all. A cup of tea, naughty knitting books, and some chocolate. Nice....

I´m the fool - who could´ve imagined that?

You are The Fool

Idea, thought, spirituality, that which endeavours to rise above the material.

The Fool is the card of infinite possibilities. The bag on the staff indicates that he has all he need to do or be anything he wants, he has only to stop and unpack. He is on his way to a brand new beginning. But the card carries a little bark of warning as well. Stop daydreaming and fantasising and watch your step, lest you fall and end up looking the fool.

yay!

PayPal is working!

shipping things all over the place...

Packages from Kentucky, USA and Singapore is on their way.

Hello Kitty deco tape from Tradera, payed for and all, hasn´t come yet, even thought it´s quite a while since I payed.

I´m buying a bento box from Yurippe in Italy, shaped like a muffin, really pretty.

I was supposed to post pics yesterday, but my sister wasn´t at home, she had to take her son to the hospitale, nothing too serious, fortunately. But no pics for me, though.

I had to work today and tomorrow. Crap.

I made and sold a shawl, the buyer liked it, so that was good, that gives me a little extra money. Somehow that always seems to come in handy.

just me rambling...

The holidays are officially over. My sister´s cats, who have been staying with me when she has been away, have been collected, and it´s a new year. I put away all of the advent decorations, and managed to step on one of my stars, which was made by my grandfather (grief...), but I´m trying to patch it up. The tree stays a week or two, usually it goes around new year´s too, but I really like my white plastic tree. Unfortunately, so does my cat, who love to chew on it, so that´s definately a reason to put it away soon - I´m getting tired of chasing him away from there. Hope for money on Thursday, I have some swap shopping to do, and need to buy winter shoes (preferably on sale). Fortunately this is the warmest winter (so far) in decades, perhaps centuries, so my sneakers works fine for now, but they´ve earned their place in the garbage by now. Rest in peace. Oh, and

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

paypal

So, finally, I could create a PayPal account, after many problems, but I can´t change the credit card, because they say that the one I want to use is not valid. There´s someone out there that does not want me to shop on ebay!
I´ve got a package on it´s way from Shikin in Singapore!
I had a decent Christmas, how about you?

I found...

...a pretty, pink blog: Pretty in Pink. It´s in Swedish, but there´s pretty things there to look at, even if you can´t read a single word.
