my secret presents - in pictures!

I finally borrowed my sisters camera, so finally you get to see my presents! First, my february package: two balls of soft, pink alpaca yarn, a bag of Hello Kitty-pasta and Hello Kitty-origamipaper. Very nice, all of it.

Yesterday I got my last package, two balls of mohair yarn (soft!) in green and pink, and a japanese comic, involving yarn and knitting, as far as I can see.

I can´t really imagine myself using any of it - I just want to keep it, so I can look at it and touch it whenever I want to. Thanks a lot, my SP, aka Amy. Look at her blog at http://amy_karalee.livejournal.com!

SP-related poo-link

I was searching for amigurumi on the net, and found this. Since I was making poo myself, I found your friend´s poo interesting. Hers is cuter, by the way.

SP-related

That was wierd - out of 6 billion people in the world, I post a picture taken by a friend of my SP! Was it as cute IRL as the picture suggested?
Don´t think I´m ungrateful, I´m not, I´m ever so happy with your gift (I did remember to say thank you when I recieved it? In other case THANK YOU!) I just wanted to wait for pictures, until I´d tell you all about my wonderful gift, but since I don´t have a camera, it can take some time. But I WILL post pics, and I WILL tell all!

yay!

My second gift has arrived, and it was very nice - thank you SP! I will tell you all about it, and post pictures, later!

I´m so excited!

I recieved a letter from Japan yesterday - my second package is on the way! I´m really excited, she really seems to try hard to find great gifts, following my taste to the letter. And speaking of letter - she sends fab letters, the japanese sure know how to make stationary! And she keep sending them too, not just the one mandatory. She´s definately going to be nominated for "best SP"!

She asked a couple of questions: yes, I´m from Sweden originally, and it´s nice here. We do take good care of our people her, considering how many other countries are, like the USA, where you can´t afford medical care without insurance. But yet we wine! We as a country love to complain about the government, the taxes, school, medical care, you name it. If you´d just listen to people, you´d think we´re a third world country. (That´s the questions from the last letter, this is answering yesterdays letter:)

Yes, I love books. I´ve been reading since I was four, and books are an important part of my life, in fact I get withdrawel-symptoms if I don´t have anything to read. And whatever obsession I get, I buy books on the subject. Thus I have loads of books of egyptologi, veganism, fashion, interior design, and now knitting. Unfortunately they don´t make that many knittingbooks in Swedish, maybe five in the last year, and we don´t have any knittingmagazines in Swedish. So I buy books on the internet, and buy american magazines, like VK, IK and Knit. 1.

So, now you know that! I´m looking forward to your gift! Sooooo excited!

already february...

Not that much time left on this SP-round, next month is the last. I sent the mandatory snail-mail this week-end, and I´m putting the last package together, to be sent in March.

I´ve got one, or perhaps two, gifts left to recieve from my spoiler, I simply can´t wait! The first was great, I bet the last one(s) is (are) great too!

she said she liked it!

My spoilee recieved her gift last week, and put it on her blog, picture and all (it looked better there than IRL), and said she liked it. It´s hard to buy to complete strangers, and even harder when there´s a lot of people buying - there´s really great stuff out there! It´s easy to get an inferiority complex (is that the english word?), being afraid not to match up to all the others. But she liked it! Hope she´ll like the next one, too...

can you believe it?

I looked through all the participating blogs (ALL!) to find my spoiler, but no luck. Now, that´s what I call secret! Really wonderful, though, and good at keeping in touch.

I´ve been checking out my spoilee´s blog to, to see if she´s got my gift, but not a word, and I haven´t heard from her either. Has my present gone astray across the Atlantic, or has she fallen off the face of the Earth?
I´ll keep on looking... Maybe I´ll send her another e-card, or mail or something.

lovely letter

Thank you, SP, for the lovely letter. The paper was absolutely wonderful, I see they now how it´s done in Japan! This is my first SP too (though I´ve done the Nordic one last year, but that was less secret), so I´m a litte bit unsure aboute the secret thing too. I think I might have blown my cover to my SP, but hopefully she´ll enjoy anyway. But this gift-thing is really fun, the buying is as good as the getting, I think.

woo-hoo!!!!

This Friday I found a package from Japan in my mailbox - sooo much fun! I really wanted a secret pal from Japan, I like all things japanese, anime, kawaii, fruits.... Grown-ups being allowed to look like cartoons, a far stretch from Sweden and "lagom", meaning not too much and not too little, just in between. I got a japanese knitting magazine (which I really wanted), some Hello Kitty-stuff (like!) and a nice monkey-letter. It all kinda looked like this (I´m not used to the camera, have patience with me...):

I´m going to make (try to make, remember it´s all in japanese) these:

Thank you sooo much, SP!

Package

My first package will most likely be sent this week, I´m just waiting for that last something to arrive in the mailbox. Then it´s on its way!

matches!

Entry in English, that´s going out to you SP´s!

I got my secret pal yesterday, the first package is being put together right this moment, I hope to send it next week. Hopefully she´ll like it...

I´ve got a SP too! Just recieved an e-card from her, looking forward to my first gift in the mailbox. So much fun!

I´m actually already looking forward to the next Secret Pal round! Maybe I´ll do the Nordic one again, too.

Looking forward to a great round! See ya´ll!

Questionnaire

Some answers for you secret pals out there!

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand?  No, no yarn snob, though I prefere some wool in the mix. I´ve begun descovering the world of novelty yarns, but I´m not totally there yet, though.

I learned to knit when I was about six, then I knitted in school, and then I had a go when I was a teenager, but I´ve not been a knitter until about 18 months ago.
